Response of New Wheat Cultivar (Maryout 5) for Fertilization under Different Soils Conditions in West Delta

THIS STUDY was carried out at the west Nile Delta, Egypt, in two major areas of El-Bostan as sandy soils and North El-Tahrir as sandy loam soils. Four field experiments were carried out through 2007 and 2008 using two wheat varieties Sakha 93 and Maryout 5. The obtained results show that wheat variety Maryout 5 surpassed wheat Sakha 93 for yield parameters and nutrients uptake under the two soil types during the two studied seasons. The results obtained of treatments mean that wheat Maryout 5 achieved higher increase of straw and grain compared with wheat Sakha 93 by 12.9 and 36.2% respectively at sandy soils and 2.7 and 10.2% at sandy loam soil. At sandy soil, the superior fertilizer treatment (12QN-60P_2O_(5-) 100K_2Okg/fed) achieved 6.04 and 2.71ton/fed for straw and grain of wheat variety Sakha 93 and 6.64 and 2.82 ton/fed for wheat variety Maryout 5. At sandy loam soil, the superior treatment (90N-50P_2O_(5-) 90K2Okg/fed) produced 7.97 and 3.74 ton/fed for straw and grain of wheat Sakha 93, while being 8.18 and 3.94 ton/fed for wheat Maryout5. This can be attributed to the relatively higher nutrient response power of Maryout 5 than Sakha 93. Regression equations detecting fertilizer recommendations based on the superior treatment which gavereasonable grain yield of wheat Maryout 5 under the conditions of West Nile Delta soils and could possible applied for other regions.
