And Conti was not the only tire company to decline to be interviewed; gleaning information on such rubber is a surprisingly difficult task. A trawl of the major - and a good few of the minor -tire makers results in plenty of assurances that work is ongoing in this, the 'market of the future', but there's not so much in the way of concrete information.
