Semiconductor sales in the first quarter of 2005 were surprisingly strong,followed by lagging sales in the second quarter due to excess inventory adjustments and lower prices of dynamic random access memory(DRAM)devices,reports say.Worldwide sales of semiconductors fell 2.1 % from the previous quarter to 55.1 billion,says the Semiconductor Industry Association(SIA;San Jose,CA).Half-year revenues,however,were up 6.5% over the first half of 2004 to 109 billion.Industry experts anticipate this growth will continue and the industry will soon rebound.
