The new BEx range from European Safety Systems is believed to be the most comprehensive available from any manufacturer. Available in both EEs d and EEx de ratings, and suitable for Zone 1 and 2, Gas Group IIC, the family consists of 110 and 117dB (A) sounders, 15 and 25W loudspeakers, the novel Appello voice and tone sounders and 5,10 and 15 Joule beacons. One of the main benefits of the design is the large amount of space available in the termination area, making it much easier to wire up the unit when using large diameter rigid fireproof cable. The terminations in the EEx d versions accept either one4mm{sup}2 or two 2.5mm{sup}2 cables, the EEx de units can accommodate two 4mm{sup}2 cables.The units are of modular design, with a common flameproof enclosure.
