Actinic reticuloid (AR) is a chronic photoallergic disease of adult males.1 Although described for the first time in 1969, its pathophysiology remains unclear/ As the most severe variant of chronic actinic dermatitis, AR is accompanied by an increased susceptibility to the development of a delayed type of allergic reaction to endogenous pho-toallergens, and exogenous allergens.3 It has been demonstrated previously that patients with AR are sensitive to ultraviolet lights and sometimes to visible light.1 A high incidence between photosensitivity in AR and allergic contact dermatitis to allergens such as plant extracts, fragrance, rubber, sunscreens, etc. has been reported.
