摘要

In 2008, Jim Gazzard and Chris Boyle undertook a pilot study to measure levels of job satisfaction in the UK vet population. Detailed postal surveys from 125 vets were returned and analysed. The initial results indicate that vets in certain roles, such as assistants and those working part-time, reported a statistically significant lower level of job satisfaction compared with other groups such as practice owners. While these findings are not definitive, they have prompted the authors to consider howveterinary practices can better understand the issue of job satisfaction and start to move towards implementing progressive human resource policies.
