Penile and scrotal edema as a manifestation of Crohn's disease.

A 3 9-year-old man, diagnosed with Crohn's disease 13 years previously, who had been receiving treatment with mesalazine, presented with a 2-month history of homogeneous, slightly infiltrated swelling of the penis and scrotum (Fig. 1). The lesions were asymptomatic, except for some erectile dysfunction. He had no gastrointestinal symptoms on presentation. Physical examination revealed no other cutaneous lesions and no associated lymphadenopathy.Laboratory investigations, including hematologic and biochemical examinations, chest radiograph, and Mantoux test, revealed no abnormalities. Testicular ultrasound showed subcutaneous tissue swelling and thickening of the scrotum and penis wall.
