Aplasia cutis congenita (ACC) is a clinical diagnosis in which there is an absence of skin tissues at birth. Most commonly, affected individuals have a unique circular defect involving the scalp. Less often, large symmetric defects affecting extensive areas of the trunk or extremities can be seen. This cutaneous type of aplasia cutis congenita is usually linked with the death of a second fetus in utero consisting in a fetus papyraceus at birth. This case describes an otherwise healthy child presenting with aplasia cutis congenita in association with a fetus papyraceus.
