Fading syndrome in kittens

Fading kitten syndrome is the death or failure to thrive in an initially apparently healthy kitten. It occurs during the first four weeks of life. This article outlines the causes of fading kitten syndrome, discusses some of the unique features of young kittens and introduces some of the interventions available to help support these neonatal patients when they are ill.
