Karyological Studies of TwelveFritillariaSpecies from Greece

Detailed karyomorphology of twelve species ofFritillariafrom Greece has been studied. Although the karyotype of eleven out of the twelve species showed general uniformity, consisting of 4 V-type chromosomes and 20 I (rod)-type, recognizable differences were noticed in a few marker chromosomes. The data derived from cytological findings are more or less in agreement with those from morphology and confirm previously known relationships.
