Medical management of acute and chronic vomiting in dogs and cats

Vomiting is a common presentation in small animal practice and can be associated with a wide variety of both gastrointestinal and systemic diseases. A logical diagnostic approach is required to identify the underlying cause to ensure that appropriatetherapy can be instituted. Medical management of vomiting can involve drug therapy, fluid therapy and dietary manipulation. This article describes the physiology and pharmacological control of acute and chronic vomiting in dogs and cats.
