Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a chronic, debilitating, cutaneous condition characterized by rapidly evolving, destructive ulcerations that are usually painful and result in severe scarring. PG is associated with diseases including ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, chronic active hepatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, seronegative arthritis, monoclonal gammopathy, and/or malignancy in 50% of cases, the remaining patients being idiopathic.
