Rowell's syndrome revisited: report of two cases from India.

A 25-year-old woman with a 2-year history of low-grade fever, photosensitivity, oral ulceration, and malar rash presented with an acute episode of rapidly progressing eruption involving the face, trunk, and distal aspects of the upper and lower limbs since 1 month. There was no history of chilblains and no precipitating factor could be identified. Family history was not contributory. Dermatologic examination of the acute eruption revealed well-circumscribed, erythematous annular, papular lesions with dark-brown to violaceous depressed centers in a targetoid pattern, present on the face, neck, upper trunk, forearms, and legs. Few lesions showed central vesiculation or necrosis. Palms and soles were spared.
