One issue commonly faced by engineers when deploying long travel energy chain systems is that the weight of the cables increases the stress on the system. This is due to the increased push pull forces that lead to more wear on the chain itself, which can occur when using high power motors. Such systems are also difficult to deploy particularly in hard to access working areas. With these issues in mind, igus has developed two new innovations, the new chainflex cf 430 and CF440 power cable with copper clad aluminium (CCA) conductor.
