In a world of evolving technology, fixtures and fittings in buildings have been slow to join the wireless revolution, at least in part because of the main limitation for other wireless devices; the need for batteries. There are few takers for a switch that may run out of power while the lights are off. However, combining wireless technology with energy harvesting - another fast developing area -is overcoming this problem.
