Geomorphic responses to land use change: lessons from different landscape settings

Assessment of the nature, rate and magnitude of geomorphic responses to land use changes was the theme of a meeting hosted by the Slovak Academy of Sciences, in Smolenice in June 2000, on behalf of GERTEC (the International Geographical Union Commission on Geomorphology and Environmental Change). This special issue of Earth Surface Processes and Landforms comprises eight papers with a fluvial or slope-channel connectedness theme that were presented at this meeting.
