Climate change and sustainability are two of the more prominent buzz words that are heard in planning and architects' offices these days. The pressure to produce more carbon neutral and environmentally sustainable buildings is being driven from both sides, whether conscientious clients or strict specifiers in planning offices. Even water resource, historically regarded as fail safe, is rightfully under scrutiny. New governmental legislation and increased water bills have placed more importance on preserving what we have and there is pressure mounting on new developments to take into account the broader environmental issues of usage, distribution and run-off.
