Nodule, plant and yield characters of organically grown table purpose groundnut as influenced by integrated nutrient management

Field experiment was conducted during Kharif season, 2014 at College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad to study the effect of four organic manures (phosphorus enriched vermicompost with rock phosphate 3 per cent, vermicompost prepared with mushroom spent substrate, vermicompost and FYM) at two levels of nitrogen (100 per cent RDN 30 kg ha~(-1) and 75 per cent RDN 22.5 kg ha~(-1)) along with control (No NPK but gypsum @ 500 kg ha~(-1) at flower initiation) and absolute control (no NPK and gypsum) on nodule, plant and yield characters of organically grown table purpose groundnut. The results showed that growth parameters viz., branches per plant at 30 DAS and 60 DAS was significantly higher 100 % RDN through vermicompost enriched with rock phosphate 3% and were at par with 100 % RDN through mushroom spent based vermicompost at 30 DAS. Nodule number and dry weight at 30 and 60 DAS was significantly higher with 100 % RDN through vermicompost enriched with rock phosphate 3 % and was at par with 100 % through mushroom based vermicompost at 30 DAS. Days to 50 per cent flowering was significantly less with the application of vermicompost prepared from rock phosphate 3% and mushroom spent substrate equivalent to 100 per cent RDN. Number of three, two seeded pods, pod, kernel and oil yield was significantly higher with the application of 100% RDN through phosphorus enriched vermicompost and mushroom spent substrate based vermicompost.
