摘要

The experiment was laid out in randomized block with fourteen treatments and three replications. The highest paddy yield of 34.42 q/ ha-1 was recorded in plots planted in the pattern of 25 cm x 25 cm hills against the lowest of 30.66 q ha"1 in plots planted in the pattern of 20 cm x 10 cm. The results further led to the conclusion that rice should preferably be planted in 25 cm from row to row and plant to plant, as it not only increases grain quality but also gives total yield/ha comparable to the conventional planting system in 20 x 10 cm/hills.
