Knowledge level of IVLP beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries regarding spices cultivation

Present study was conducted at CAZRI, Jodhpur, Rajasthan in the year 2011 to assess the knowledge level of IVLP beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries regarding spices cultivation. Mandore Panchayat samiti was selected for study where IVLP was operated.Six villages were randomly selected and out of these villages 80 beneficiaries and 80 non-beneficiaries farmers were selected randomly. Thus the total sample was of 160 respondents. Further, a knowledge test was developed and administered to the respondents containing major package of practices of cumin, chilli and onion crops producton technology. Later the responses were counted and converted into mean, mean percent score and comparison was made by using statistical measures. The findings showed thatabout 50 per cent beneficiary and 51 per cent non-beneficiary respondents were found to have medium level of knowledge regarding spice crops production technology. The findings also revealed that there was rank order correlation between the knowledge possessed by beneficiary and non-beneficiary respondents regarding spices crops production technology. There was practicewise significant difference in existing knowledge of beneficiary and non-beneficiary respondents.
