摘要

A study was carried out on the impact of wastewater usage from pharma industry on some soil properties and physiological processes in trees such as Subabul, Neem, Eucalyptus and Pongamia grown under irrigated and unirrigated situations. Results revealed that there was significant variation in microbial and physical properties of soils. The soils under irrigated condition with plantation were having bulk density of 1.67 g/cm~3 where as under similar condition and without plantation the bulk density recorded was 1.140g/cm~3, which is indicative of adverse impact. Similarly, physiological processes in trees also got affected adversely recording lower chlorophyll content under irrigated situation. In conclusion, it can be said that though soil has a capacity to digest and can become sink for pollutants loose certain of its dynamic properties and may become inert in future course of time.
