Study of Navjivan science college campus environment in view of the health concerns

A lab scale experiment was conducted by the students of Biotechnology (COP) during the monsoon season. The aim of the study is to check the environment and water supply which is provided by the college is suitable for drinking or not. The results obtained from the experiment are quite interesting; the air samples show a microbial contamination and it is in the reasonable amount, while in the soil sample and in the water samples no contamination was found. Probably the reason for the soil sample is not having a microbial contamination is the type of soil is rocky soil; which is not allowing microorganisms to survive. In the water samples also we could not find any kindtof contamination because in the monsoon season, the rain water is harvested and that only is supplied to the students for drinking as well as for the laboratories.
