A field experiment was conducted to study Field efficacy and economic evaluation of certain insecticides against fruit borer, Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) in tomato crop. The overall mean efficacy showed that Spinosad (70.87%) and Emamectin benzoate(65.97%) were most effective treatments and significantly superior to all the other treatments by recording highest per cent reduction of damage to fruit caused by H. armigera over untreated check. The next best treatment was Novaluron with 59.89 per cent reduction over untreated check. The remaining treatments that followed in the descending order of efficacy were Lambda-cyhalothrin (53.12%), Deltamethrin (50.12%) and Fipronil (44.15%) the Profenofos was the significantly least effective with (29.70%).The benefit cost ratio of tomato was superior in spinosad treated plot with (23.89:1) and. The remaining treatments in descending order of their F3:C ratio Fipronil, Deltamethrin, Emamectin Benzoate, Lambda-Cyhalothrin, Profenofos and Novaluron with(23.54.T), (21.05:1), (15.53:1), (15.11:1), (13.76:1) and (11.96:1) respectively.
