Effect of industrial waste disposal on the water quality of river Arpa in Bilaspur district,Chhattisgarh

摘要

The quality of Arpa river water has deteriorated badly due to industrial effluents and domestic sewage.The water quality of river Arpa was determined based on the analysis of different physicochemica! parameters during the period from January 2004 toDecember 2004.The study revealed a fluctuating behaviour of different parameters throughout the study period. From the present study it is concluded that physicochemical parametres of the water shows the values above the WHO, BIS, and CPCB standards andit will have deleterious effect on aH aquatic flora and fauna of Arpa river, if proper effulent treatment is not maintained.
