Insecticide resistance to Helicoverpa armigera has been monitored in different tomato growing areas of Punjab. Resistance to synthetic pyrethroids and organophosphate insecticides was assayed by topical application method, using discriminating doses of fenvalerate 0.2 ug larva1, cypermethrin 1.0 ug larva1, deltamethrin 0.0125 ug larva-1 and profenophos 2ug larva1. The resistance frequency was maximum for fenvalerate followed by cypermethrin, deltamethrin and profenophos in all the locations.
