Trace metals in and around an industrial belt

During the last one decade a large number of small scale industries like sugar, distilleries, pulp and paper, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cement tiles, making textile dyeing and printing, dairies, oil etc. have been establish in Maharashtra and Gujarat without any effective safeguards against environmental pollution. The waste from these industries are flowing on open spaces. These wastes have a variety of contaminants which affect the underground water resources of this region.
