The present investigation was undertaken to study the BOD variations in Godavari river for a period of two years effluents from M.I.D.C. at Nanded city (MS.). BOD is defined as the amount of oxygen required by micro-organisms while stabilizing biologically decompassable organic matter in a waste under aerobic conditions. The BOD test is widely used to determine the degree of pollution.
