The demand for less contact between paper and machine during the paper coating process is well known,as are the difficulties caused by blade coating.Film transfer technology is a big step in the right direction.Weaker base papers can be coated.However,there is still a heavy web contact with many variables between the coating installation and the paper in the film transfer zone.
