Relationship between Parent and Twin Orientations in Pulse Electrodeposited Copper

In this study copper deposits with (111), (112), (110), and (100) preferred orientations were investigated on the relationship between parent and twin orientations. According to the position of the twinning plane the orientation pair of parent and twin can be classified into three types, one is parallel for (112)-(112) and (110)-(110) orientation-pairs, another is perpendicular for (111)-(111) orientation-pair and the other is inclined for (111)-(100), (112)-(100) and (110)-(100) orientation-pairs to the specimen surface. Among these six orientation-pairs two configurations of edge-on and layer-by-layer exhibit a high density of twins, that is, the twinning plane is parallel and perpendicular, respectively.
