摘要

Simple electrochemical immobilization of methylviologen cation (MV~(2+)) on MWCNT modified glassy carbon electrode (designated as GCE/MV~(2+)@MWCNT, E_(1/2) = -530 mV vs Ag/AgCl), without any ion-exchanger, has been demonstrated. The method consists of drop casting of dilute MV~(2+)-ethanol mixture followed by an electrochemical treatment procedure. The MV~(2+) @MWCNT modified electrode showed unusual pH depended redox signal with Nernstian characteristic in the pH range pH 3-11. The electrochemically immobilized MV~(2+) species are likely trapped inside the multiwalls of CNT through pi-pi interactions along with strong internal hydrogen bonding and the architecture showed unusual electrochemical characteristic.
