Everything seems to meet where the Isar flows into the Danube, on the edge of the Bavarian Forest: road, rail and waterway traffic and transport routes. And right at the intersection point in a wide, flat plain is where Plattling lies, the town on the Isar in the heart of Lower Bavaria. In the summer, the region known - rightly so - as the Bavarian breadbasket resembles a sea of corn, regularly interrupted by the rich green of the sugar beet and potato fields.
