The announcement that over 700 jobs are to go at Voith Paper, primarily at the locations in Germany and Austria, has caused a little uproar, ipw therefore talked to Dr Hans-Peter Sollinger, CEO of Voith Paper. We observe the global paper market very closely and a few years ago, we have already started to respond to a decline in graphic grades. However the speed of this structural change is exceeding all predictions and expectations. To illustrate this: the demand for new graphic machines has slumped by approximately 90 percent within a year.
