THE Railways has decided to give a 25 percent discount on domestic iron ore freight booked to ports in a bid to help steel companies hit hard by rising input cost. The discount is in continuation of special dispensation that Railways is giving for transporting iron ore. It has already abolished port congestion surcharge and brought ore under lower classification for levying freight charges.
