SAIL begins work to develop Tasra coal block

ACTING swiftly on a notice served by the coal ministry for "no-progress" at Tasra coal block in Jharkhand, government-owned Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has commenced development work at the block. The steel maker has secured a nod from steel ministry to more than treble the mining capacity to 4.5 million tonnes from an earlier 1.3 million tonnes for the Tasra and Sitanala blocks with an investment of 2,000 crore Rupees.
