Raise drawback rates to make up for steel import duty hike

NEW DELHI: Engineering exporters' body EEPC India on Friday said that the government should increase duty drawback rates to make up for the recent hike in baste customs duty (BCD) on certain steel products. It has cautioned that exports were bound to be hit unless government hikes the duty drawback rates, as steel accounts for nearly half of total value of engineering products exported.
