Posco expects project to go on stream by June 2010

SOUTH KOREAN steel major Posco is determined to implement its 10 billion dollars project in India. Tae-Hyun Jeong, deputy managing director and head of Posco India, is confident that the first phase involving 3 million tonnes will start commercial production by June 2010 and the second phase of another 3 million tonnes will be completed by 2012. A high-level Posco team led by Jeong is currently on a visit to India to oversee the feasibility study under progress. Jeong said there are 16 feasibility studies relating to different areas like master engineering, water supply, township, road, rail, ports and others are under progress.
