The aim of the studies was to determine the effect of standard and choice feeding on the economic efficiency and some production radices of pig fattening. The production results obtained in both methods were similar. Despite the fact that the averagedaily body weight gains were the highest in the case of choice feeding (1.018 kg), the total unit cost of weight gain was not the lowest in this group. This was caused by the prices of feed mixtures (8 - 0.74 PLN/kg and 9 - 0.70 PLN/kg) and the highestcost of metabolizable energy (5.57 PLN/100 MJ). Carcass quality was the factor which decided about the profitability of fattening to a great degree.
