Ontario government pushing industry to reduce use of toxics

Ontario Environment Minister John Gerretsen has introduced a Bill in the Ontario Legislature that would require facilities in the province to keep track of the toxic substances they use or create. The intention of Bill 167, the Toxics Reduction Act 2009, introduced on April 7,2009, is to reduce the amount of toxic substances used at Ontario facilities by replacing them with non-toxic alternatives.
