Proposed oil sands project GHG emissions the subject of litigation

On February 27, 2007, a Joint Panel comprised of representatives of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) (now the Energy Resources Conservation Board) as the provincial regulator, and a representative of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency as the federal regulator, released a report recommending that the Kearl Oil Sands project receive approval under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA).
