Socar Polymer Breaks Ground in Sumgayit For New High-Density Polyethylene Plant

Baku— Socar Polymer has broken ground for a new 120,000-t/y high-density polyethylene (HDPE) facility being built at the Sumgayit petrochemical complex near Baku in Azerbaijan, reported local media sources. - The new HDPE plant will based on Ineos' technology and is part of a project that includes a 180,000-t/y polypropylene facility (PCN, 27 Apr 2015, p 2). Both units are expected to be operational in 2018.
