R&D plan for super marine gas turbine

In April 1997, the development of the Super Marine Gas Turbine (SMGT) was set out by the Technological Research Association (hereinafter referred to as the association), that was jointly established by five gas turbine manufacturing companies (IHI, KHI, Daihatsu, Niigata, and Yanmar) and is operated on the support from MOT, ASIS, and The Nippon Foundation. The SMGT is a highly efficient gas turbine engine with environmental friendliness. The present report introduces the SMGT, and outlines its R&D planning.
