Reed canarygrass (Phalaris anmdinacea) is a cool-season, perennial grass that threatens the diversity of native wetland vegetation, particularly in sedge meadows and wet prairies (Galatowitsch and others 1999). This widely distributed species forms dense monocultures capable of displacing native vegetation and altering restoration trajectories (Apfelbaum and Sams 1987, Galatowitsch and others 2000, Maurer and others 2003).
