Conoco 15 Bn buyback frenzy

ConocoPhillips plans to buy back as much as US 15 Bn of its own stock through the end of 2008. ConocoPhillips shares rose 3.5% to 83.89 on the heels of the move. The buyback by the Houston-based oil giant includes 2 Bn remaining under the 4 Bn programme previously announced on 9 February.
