US major Chevron is set to invest a hefty sum of US 6 Bn over the next four years to develop its oil and gas field offshore East Kalimantan, Indonesian territory on the island of Borneo."During a meeting, it was revealed that Chevron is committed to spending 6 Bn in East Kalimantan," Kardaya Warnika, chairman of Indonesia's upstream regulating body BP Migas, told reporters. Two fields set for development by 2012 are deepwater duo Gendalo and Gehem.
