Maurel & Prom has abandoned a wildcat in Congo Brazzaville but will return to the block next year.The Doungou-1 well on La Noumbi permit was plugged and abandoned after reaching a total depth of 8,537ft(2,602m)."The well proves the existence of a working hydrocarbon system at several levels in an under explored part of Congo Brazzaville,which is encouraging for future exploration activity,"Maurel & Prom said.
