Statoil sees profits dip

Statoil said today that its net income had dipped in the third quarter 2006 to US 1.31 Bn compared to 1.33 Bn in the same period a year ago.Statoil said the effect from an increase in oil and gas prices was offset by the effects of financial items and tax during the quarter. In the first nine months of 2006, net income was 4.4 Bn compared to 3.4 Bn in the first nine months of 2005.
