Statoil said today that net income in the second quarter of 2006 was up 44% at US 1.57 Bn, compared to 1.1 Bn in the second quarter of 2005, on the back of higher oil and gas prices.For the first six months of 2006, net income hit 3.24 Bn compared to 2.18 Bn in the first six months of 2005.
