PNOC-Nido bag Palawan block

State-owned Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) and Australia's Nido Petroleum have been awarded Service Contract 63 (SC 63) in the North West Palawan Basin offshore the Philippines.The 10,560sq km block lies at a water depths of 1,641ft (500m) to more than 3,281ft (1,000m). The concession contains the Aboabo-1 gas discovery, which was found by Phillips in 1980 and flow tested 50 MMcf/d of gas during testing.
