The Cepu oil and gas development in Java, Indonesia, is expected to produce first oil at a rate of just 10,000 b/d by the end of 2008, following an agreement between the government and the field operators ExxonMobil and state-owned Pertamina to 'fast-track' its development.Deputy chairman of the country's upstream oil and gas watchdog BPMigas, Abdul Muin, said that the amount is far lower than Cepu's expected peak production rate of 165,000 b/d by 2009.
