Indians into Gabon

Four Indian firms have signed up to study the feasibility of developing an oil field in central Gabon. The firms, headed by ONGC, have taken the Shakthi field which covers 3,761sq km on swamp land. It was first discovered in 1934 and 13 wells have since been drilled on it with seven of these producing hydrocarbons.
